HOST/HOSTESS

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Manage reservations (if applicable) and walk-in seating efficiently.

  • Escort guests to their tables, hand out menus, and introduce servers when needed.

  • Assist with bar or patio seating if required.

  • Be knowledgeable about menu items (food, drinks, specialty offerings) and able to answer guest questions.

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure excellent guest experience.

  • Greet guests promptly and warmly as they arrive.

  • Maintain and update the waitlist when the restaurant is busy.

  • Monitor table turnover and communicate with servers/kitchen to maximize guest service.

  • Maintain cleanliness and order at the entrance/lobby/waiting areas.

  • Handle guest requests or issues politely; escalate to manager as necessary.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Previous experience in a host/hostess role or customer-service position preferred.

  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.

  • Basic knowledge of menus, drink specials, happy hour etc., so you can guide guests.

  • Flexible schedule: evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor.

  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage multiple tasks (busy seating, waitlist, etc.).

  • Comfortable being on feet for long periods, standing, walking, sometimes in outdoor/patio settings.
